Curious about the bestsellers? You might want to follow the recommendation of the staff, as Todd B did. The pulled pork sandwich, loaded with tender meat and the zing of house sauce, is a crowd favorite. And don’t forget about the enticing Tuesday special: a single rib for just $1.79, making it an irresistible treat for those seeking quality without breaking the bank.
Susan Mays, visiting for her first time, also gives a nod to their well-executed pulled chicken sandwich, citing its juicy tenderness. While not every single aspect was perfect—like her hush puppies being slightly overcooked—she highlights just how redeeming the flavors can be, making her excited for a return visit.

“ Yes, five stars for service five stars for atmosphere Five stars for food. I have worked in this area for many years and this is my second time stopping and I don’t know why I didn’t stop sooner. The first time I had to chicken sandwich the dirty bird this time I had the smoked wings and both times I ordered the chocolate chip cookies which are absolutely amazing ”
“ Our basketball team along with 30 additional family members visited today. The food was great and the facility was clean. At the end our stay the manager came out and helped clear our table while we were finishing talking. She was very kind and helpful to our group. Will definitely return! ”
“ I asked the cashier what was the biggest seller. He said the pulled pork sandwich was the best seller and his personal favorite (fyi...the Lolo is the same sandwich plus coleslaw). I asked his favorite sauce, and he said he liked the house sauce. I went with his recommendation and was pleased I did. There was plenty of meat on the sandwich, and the pulled pork was juicy and abundant. I also added some of the spicy sauce, and that was delicious, too. A good call all the way around. I will definitely go back the next time I am in the area. Also, if you download the app, they give you 5 off your first order. Lunch was fab and under 4. Hard to beat. ”
“ Today was my first visit at this establishment and the food was exceptionally good! I had a pulled chicken sandwich and the meat was juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned. I also had hush puppies. They were slightly overcooked but tolerable. My delicious sandwich made up for it! My husband had the brisket sandwich and greens and he had no complaints whatsoever. I like the fact that the customer adds their own bbq sauce to their food. Also, on Tuesdays they sell the 1 bone rib for 1.79 all day. We will definitely be returning! ”
“ Casher/greeter was great. She offered us a taco meat sample even. Ordered a 2 taco and 3 taco combo meal. I especially loved my salad, which the "chef" made into a smiley face!! Thanks, I really needed that too!! My 2 taco meal didn't have enough meat, honestly... but the 3 taco meal was completely better and good serving. The hush puppies could be better if there was even a hint of onion to them for flavor, so I won't get them again. A for service, just an issue with serving size. ”
“ We had a really good experience at City BBQ Lafayette and would highly recommend. Some reviews said the food was dry and not worth it, but our experience was great. If you want to try a bit of everything, then get the city sampler. My wife and I split it and there’s plenty of food for two people. The brisket is amazing as well as the turkey. It all tasted pretty good to be honest. There’s plenty of sides to choose from but my recommendations are: baked beans, corn pudding and green beans. The staff was very friendly and provided recommendations on what to try. You can also get a free sample of anything before you order to see if that’s what you want. Somewhat pricier than most restaurants, but there wasn’t any line. The food came out fast, which is a plus with kids. There are some kids menu items available. The location is easy to get to about a mile off the interstate. It has plenty of parking in the big lot. Overall, if you like BBQ, then check it out for a quick BBQ meal. ”
“ My wife and I went here for lunch for the first time and shared the city sampler plus 6 smoked chicken wings and 2 bones of ribs. The brisket and turkey were excellent! The ribs and chicken wings were pretty good, but the pulled pork and smoked sausage were just average. Most of their sauces were way too sweet, but they had a vinegar mustard sauce that was hitting, had to get a bottle of that sauce to go. ”
